Brian Bohrer has been a Personal trainer for 2 years and Triathlon and Run Coach for 1 year. I love helping people reaching there goals. I know what it is like to start at the bottom of the pile (when it come to physical fitness) In 2005 I was 65 pounds overweight, a smoker, and living a very sedentary lifestyle. During this timeframe I attended a wedding of a friend who sent me a picture. This was an awakening moment, making me realize how much I had let myself go. From that moment on I decided to make a change in my life. I started walking, however I couldn’t even walk a half mile without the sensation of feeling like I was going to pass out. I kept at it with my workout routines not looking back one time. I absolutely LOVE the results I have gotten from the lifestyle I now live. It has changed me from a Mental and Physical stand point. I want to share the experience with everyone I come in contact with to help them reach their fullest potential.
Not only am I a lifestyle coach, I’m also a triathlete, beginning my journey five years ago when I took a risk. I owned a bagel shop in Clemmons, North Carolina at the time, and had regularly sponsored a local race. As a thank-you for the sponsorship I always got a free race entry, but year after year I turned it down. But in 2005, I decided to give it a shot. I had not done ANYTHING active in years so i had a lot of work ahead of me.
I started training, but with no idea what I was doing. I felt very lost and wasn’t sure even where to start. I felt like it would help to have some one guide me, but I didn’t know who to ask, so I went it alone. I ended up performing decently at the race, but I surprised myself even more by falling head-over-heels in love with the sport. I started training for my next event right away. And again, I didn’t ask for guidance and made a lot of mistakes that I could have avoided with a helping hand from a coach.
Since that first race I’ve let my passion lead me to learn more about the sport, and to understand how important personal coaching can be. So far, I have completed 1 Ironman, 3 Half-Ironmans, 10 Olympics, 22 Sprints, 2 Marathons, 2 Half-Marathons and countless 5ks and 10ks, and I’ve enjoyed every event. I enjoy what I have found in the sport of triathlon so much that I decided to become a coach myself.
